What we’re looking for

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Manager to lead the development and optimization of our dynamic pricing team . This role will focus on leveraging data-driven strategies, including machine learning models, to recommend price adjustments aimed at maximizing key business objectives such as sales, margin, and competitive positioning. The Product Manager will work closely with data science, engineering, and business teams to ensure the pricing model aligns with market conditions and business goals, while also overseeing A/B testing to validate the effectiveness of pricing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Product Vision & Strategy:

    • Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for our pricing optimization tool.

    • Align product development with business objectives such as maximizing sales, profit margins, and market share, or other objectives.

    • Identify and prioritize key factors influencing pricing decisions, including market dynamics, competitor pricing, and internal sales data.

  • Data-Driven Pricing Optimization:

    • Collaborate with data scientists to refine and enhance machine learning models that generate pricing recommendations.

    • Ensure that pricing models incorporate relevant data inputs, such as competitive pricing intelligence and historical sales performance.

    • Monitor and analyze the impact of pricing recommendations on business metrics and continuously improve the model’s accuracy.

  • A/B Testing & Validation:

    • Design and oversee A/B testing frameworks to rigorously test the effectiveness of price recommendations.

    • Analyze test results to assess the impact of pricing changes on sales, margins, and other KPIs.

    • Work with the implementation team to decide on the application of pricing changes based on test outcomes.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Partner with engineering teams to ensure the seamless integration of pricing recommendations into operational systems.

    • Work closely with the assortment, marketing, and pricing teams to ensure alignment on pricing strategies and business objectives.

    • Collaborate with the implementation team responsible for applying price changes, ensuring clear communication and smooth execution.

  • Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence:

    • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor pricing strategies to inform the pricing model. 

  • Reporting & Communication:

    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the performance of the pricing product, including insights from A/B testing.

    • Prepare and present reports that outline the impact of pricing decisions on key business metrics.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, with analytical background, ideally with experience in pricing optimization or similar data-driven products.

  • Strong understanding of machine learning principles and experience working with data science teams.

  • Experience with A/B testing and experimental design in a business context.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable business strategies.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Familiarity with market analysis and competitive intelligence practices.
