AUTODOC opens new tech hub in Lisbon

AUTODOC brings its tech operations to Lisbon

  • 1000 m2 office opens
  • More than 100 new employees already hired, another 100 to follow by the end of the year
  • Location also serves as new base for staff from areas such as Ukraine
  • Focus on software development, data management and analysis, product management, DevOps, customer service, revenue management, own brands, and B2B business
  • Portugal to become AUTODOC’s largest tech hub in the long term

Berlin, 7 June 2023 – AUTODOC, a leading online retailer of automotive spare parts and accessories in Europe, opened its new office in Lagoas Park in Lisbon at the end of May. The German company had already founded its Portuguese subsidiary ATD PORTUGAL in the middle of last year. With the opening of the location, the online giant headquartered in Berlin now has its own branches in eight European countries. An international team will be based in Lisbon to drive the development of the company’s tech division. To this end, AUTODOC plans to hire around 100 additional employees by the end of the year; more than 100 people are already employed there.

To complement the existing company locations with a technical focus, the Portugal location will eventually be developed into the company’s most important tech hub, bringing together core competencies such as IT, sales management, customer service, and our own brands. In the IT area, vacancies are mainly in software development, data management and analysis, product management, and DevOps. The new location will be managed by AUTODOC’s co-CEO Dmitry Zadorojnii, who has been with the company since 2011 and built up the Berlin e-commerce giant’s IT.

“In Portugal we have access to a large talent pool. Lisbon is also an attractive city with a growing IT sector that attracts professionals from all over the world. Here we will find the right mix of local and global talent to further develop our products, optimise processes, and drive our growth. As a growth-oriented company, we want to learn with and from the best in the industry. Our longterm goal is to expand our presence in Portugal and make it our largest technology centre,” says Dmitry Zadorojnii, Co-CEO of AUTODOC and Managing Director of ATD PORTUGAL.

At the new tech hub, new employees will work together with existing AUTODOC employees: “When the war in Ukraine broke out in February 2022, we on the board looked for a way to provide job security for all staff affected by the war. Portugal met our criteria and so proved to be the best option,” adds Sandra Dax, Co-CEO of AUTODOC. So far, more than 20 existing staff members have taken the opportunity to relocate to Portugal. With the opening of the new permanent office, the company can now step up.

AUTODOC has also been operating a logistics site in Berlin-Lichtenberg since 2010. In 2023, a new logistics site will open in Cheb, Czech Republic. It is expected that 500 new jobs will be created there. the relocation process for staff in other locations who are interested in moving. Currently, around 1,000 people work for AUTODOC in Ukraine.

The 1,000 m2 office in Lagoas Park was completed on schedule within four months in cooperation with the architecture department of a leading real estate service provider.
