New logistics hub in Szczecin supports AUTODOC’s operations

  • AUTODOC, a leading online retailer of vehicle spare parts in Europe, has opened its new logistics hub “M40” in Szczecin.
  • This triples AUTODOC’s warehouse space in Szczecin, bringing it to 70,000 m2 .
  • The 40,000 m2 warehouse has around 50,000 pallet spaces and is AUTODOC’s largest warehouse to date.

Berlin, 11 January 2023 The new M40 now serves as the central logistics hub for all AUTODOC distribution centres. The additional storage capacity allows the range to be expanded, inventory to be replenished more quickly, and production to be increased overall. Around 200,000 products and up to 15 million SKUs of the company’s own brands Ridex and Stark are stored here for replenishment purposes. These are distributed as needed to the distribution centres in Berlin, Szczecin, and soon Cheb, from where they are sent to customers throughout Europe. The flow of goods will amount to about 1.5 million litres per day in the future. Up to 400,000 items will be picked here daily and distributed to other warehouses.

“By bringing the M40 into operation, we have created space for further growth, gained flexibility, and massively expanded our own-brand range. The faster availability of our products also enables us to ensure a higher level of service for our customers,” says Sven Herrmann, Senior Vice President Supply Chain Management at AUTODOC.

More space, better service

AUTODOC now employs around 2,000 people from thirteen countries as warehouse and administrative staff at its logistics site in Szczecin. In the distribution centres, an average of around 35,000 orders are processed daily, 140,000 products are picked, and around 45,000 parcels are sent to customers all over Europe. With a total investment of around 11 million euros, the Szczecin site is currently AUTODOC’s most important and largest logistics location.

“Like many other German e-commerce companies, we appreciate the excellent infrastructure and highly qualified professionals Poland has to offer. That’s why we decided back in 2017 to set up our second logistics location in Szczecin, paving the way for further growth,” says Sandra Dax, Co-CEO of AUTODOC.

With its latest investment in Poland, AUTODOC SE is continuing its success story in Szczecin. Accolade, an industrial real estate investment company and long-time business partner of AUTODOC, completed the new warehouse construction. AUTODOC first established a presence in the area in 2018, opening its transloading centre in the Załom-Kasztanowe district next to the A6 motorway. In 2020, the company’s warehouse space was expanded to include a semi-automated distribution centre. With the handover of M40, Accolade simultaneously completed its largest logistics park in Poland, with a rented area of 230,000 m2.

AUTODOC has also been operating a logistics site in Berlin-Lichtenberg since 2010. In 2023, a new logistics site will open in Cheb, Czech Republic. It is expected that 500 new jobs will be created there.
