AUTODOC completes conversion into a European Company (SE)

AUTODOC finalises SE status as a European Company

Berlin, 23 November 2022 – AUTODOC, one of Europe’s leading online retailers of vehicle spare parts and accessories, has changed its legal form from a German public limited company to a European public limited company (Societas Europaea, SE). The company now operates under the name AUTODOC SE.

The conversion, which had been agreed upon by the company’s executive bodies (the Management Board, Supervisory Board, and General Meeting), became effective on 16 November 2022, upon entry in the Commercial Register. AUTODOC will maintain its dual management system with management and supervisory boards, as well as its current corporate structure. The new legal form will therefore have no impact on the day-to-day operations, contractual partners, or customers. A European Works Council will represent the interests of all employees in EU member states. The registered office of the company remains in Berlin.

The legal form Societas Europaea is internationally recognised and generally perceived positively.

The conversion illustrates the company’s ambitions for growth as well as its internationalisation. For example, AUTODOC opened its new tech hub in Lisbon in October this year. By the end of next year, it plans to employ up to 500 people there. With this new location, the online retailer is now present in seven countries and active in 27 European markets. In 2021, AUTODOC achieved a turnover of over one billion euros.
